Hand in Hand, We Can Make A Difference | A Reflection on 2022

December 31, 2022

HAND IN HAND WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE – that was the message God placed on our hearts for 2022. As we continued throughout the year, God used that simple picture to stretch 28:19 Ministries into new partnerships, a new trust in Him, and new dreams for our ministry.

When we founded 28:19 Ministries in 2019, we expected to have a mission team in Belize immediately and envisioned our work there as our ministry’s central focus. Throughout 2020 and 2021, God used the most unlikely circumstances (a global pandemic) to show us His plans for our ministry were so much greater than we could’ve ever imagined. 2022 was a year of anticipation as our ministry began to plan our first international Mission Experience to Belize.

During our Mission Experience in July, we were able to accomplish so much with our team of 13. We hosted a four-day Family Bible Adventure Camp, a Boys’ Small Group, and the Transformed Women’s Conference. With every event and hang out, we had a new and unique impact to share the hope of the Gospel. Not only did God amaze us through our work in July, but He also made a way for a small team of 28:19 Ministries to return in early December. God has given 28:19 Ministries unique influence in this small village in Belize and called us there to share His hope.

At 28:19 Ministries, we believe the Gospel changes everything and want to encourage you to trust in that same hope. GO where God has called you. Each of us has been placed here with a specific Kingdom purpose, equipped with unique gifts to be used for God’s glory.  Where has God given you influence? Are you using this influence to share the peace, love, and hope of Jesus with those around you?  Are you using your gifts to make an eternal difference? Don’t take for granted where God has placed you and the people that surround you. Share the hope that you have with a dark world.

THIS GOOD NEWS IS MEANT TO SHARE!

Our 2022 Mission Experience Team in Belize. This was 28:19 Ministries’ inaugural international Mission Experience.

We enjoyed a day serving alongside our partners at World Help packaging life saving aid that will be sent around the globe.

We got to be in their new warehouse before it was even finished.

Our one-day serve opportunities are a great way to get involved!

Our board members were invited to celebrate the opening of World Help’s new warehouse. It was such an honor to be there and hear more about World Help’s story.

This year, we gained a new board member, Kelley Duvall. We met her while serving at World Help, where she is on staff. Our hearts connected instantly and we’re so grateful to have her on the team.

A small team of our board members had the opportunity to travel back to Belize at the beginning of December. While there, they helped put on a women’s conference and threw a surprise Christmas party for the kids in the village.

We’re so grateful that God has positioned us to serve in so many ways around the globe. Here is a glance at our growing partnerships.

PARTNERS IN BELIZE
As a ministry, we are so thankful for our partners on the ground in Belize. Throughout 2022, we have seen God strengthen these connections and reinforce our mission work there. We are so thankful for the longstanding mission work of Kidz Konnect 4 Jesus and St. Matthews Anglican School in Belize. Additionally, we are so moved by the partnerships we share with Annamay Ferguson and our sweet Macaroni Village.

CHURCH & NONPROFIT PARTNERSHIPS
God has blessed our ministry abundantly more than we could’ve ever imagined through the generosity of our church and nonprofit partners. In 2022, Cornerstone Christian Church continued to support our ministry in every way. In addition, Heights Church began supporting our work through regular financial giving. We are so thankful for the ways these partnerships have impacted our mission work. Furthermore, 28:19 Ministries continues to seek ways to support World Help as they expand their help & aid programs.

MISSIONARIES
Our ministry is so blessed to support missionaries who have been called by God to serve His people full-time. In 2022, James Alford, a member of the 28:19 family began serving as a missionary in Mexico, Columbia, and Hawaii. 28:19 Ministries is proud to support James both spiritually and financially. In addition, 28:19 Ministries supports the S.T.A.R. Foundation, a mission effort of Arit Abolade. Arit Abolade is a missionary in and from Nigeria. Not only have we supported Arit’s work in Nigeria, but she has also supported our work in Belize.

We cannot wait to see what God has in store for 2023.
