The Gathering

As the sun set on a week filled with high energy programs during our Mission Experience, our team could never have expected the move of God they would witness on Friday night. Alongside Belizean pastors and worship leaders, 28:19 Ministries hosted a Night of Worship for the community. Our offering to God was simple as we set up 100 chairs and a tent on a grassy soccer field. But the way God transformed our offering was life-changing. Eternity shifting. 

From every direction, men, women, and children flooded the field. Women with babies on their hips. Truck beds filled with families. Large groups walking on foot. All seeking one thing – the presence of God. In fact, unlike our other activities throughout the week, on this night, His presence was the only thing offered. 

It wasn’t long before all 100 seats were filled, as more than 200 people crowded the worship-filled tent. 

As our team looked around the tent, we witnessed a rural valley community join together hungry for the presence of the one, true God, and we witnessed God faithful to respond. 

More than 17 people surrendered their lives to Christ that night. Five people were instantly healed. And in one night, God has changed this valley for His glory. 

Since that night (July 14th), God has stirred the heart of one of the local pastors who spoke at the Night of Worship. In partnership with 28:19 Ministries, Pastor Fredrico Lord has made weekly visits to our partner village, hosting a Christ-centered gathering to disciple and pour into the people who made decisions at the Night of Worship. We know God is powerful enough to transform hearts instantly, but we are refusing to allow the hunger that began that July night die out. We are believing in God for a village, a valley, a nation transformed in Jesus’ name.
