the beginning
What began as a partnership between a local church and missionaries in Belize grew into something much bigger than we could have imagined.
Year after year, our founder and her daughters returned to the same small village in Southern Belize. They built relationships with the same families, shared the Gospel with the same community, and watched God work in the lives of people they had come to love.
Over time, it became clear that the Gospel was still needed there. The work God was doing was not finished.
When the local church that had been sending teams decided to discontinue its partnership, our founder felt God calling her to take a step of faith. With no roadmap and plenty of questions, she trusted the promise found in Psalm 32:8: "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go."
In August 2019, 28:19 Ministries was born in response to the Great Commission—to go where we are called in Jesus' name, expressing our love for Him by serving others and empowering them to take their next step of faith in Jesus.
Although 28:19 Ministries was just founded in 2019, our roots run much deeper. We have more than a decade-long history with the people and communities we serve in Belize. Those relationships continue to shape who we are and how we do ministry today.
Since our founding, God has done abundantly more than we could have asked or imagined. What started with one village in Belize has grown into opportunities to support education, meet physical needs, and make disciples both locally and globally. From mission experiences and English classes to Bible studies, discipleship resources, and community outreach, our desire remains the same: to help people encounter Jesus and grow in their faith.
We believe the Great Commission is not just a call for pastors, missionaries, or ministry leaders. It is a call for every believer.
Whether God calls you across the world or across the street, our prayer is that you would have the courage to say yes—and trust Him to guide your steps along the way.
